The founding five
- Separation of duty, 1987. No individual may complete a critical transaction alone.
- Fail-safe defaults, 1975. Access is denied unless it is explicitly granted.
- Least privilege, 1975. Every user and program holds only the access its task requires.
- Biba, 1977. A lower-integrity subject can never modify higher-integrity data.
- Clark–Wilson, 1987. Data changes through well-formed transactions.
